Recent progress over the last several decades has revealed that animal life span is genetically regulated and malleable. My laboratory uses the small roundworm C. elegans as a model system to unravel molecular mechanisms underlying animal longevity and age-related disease, focusing on nutrient sensing pathways, transcription factor networks, and downstream processes of metabolism and proteostasis.
