We study the creation of new proteins and variants. The purpose of this work is to use such engineered proteins to enable novel research and biomedical applications. Examples of our endeavors are new binding proteins (DARPins, Armadillo Repeat proteins), highly stabilized GPCRs, and engineered virus-like particles for targeted gene delivery. Our work is very interdisciplinary, from structural and biophysical studies to in vivo applications.
