We investigate the molecular control of programmed cell death with a focus on how defects in cell death cause cancer or autoimmune disease and how they affect the response of malignant cells to anti-cancer therapeutics. The ultimate goal of our work is to develop novel therapeutic strategies for cancer and autoimmune disease.
