Pre-mRNA splicing is essential for gene expression and plays a major role in proteomic and functional complexity. Our research focused on human RNA-binding proteins coordinating splice site recognition. With high-throughput methods we identified RNA binding sites of splicing factors and studied protein-protein interactions to understand the biochemical mechanisms that control splice site definition and alternative splice site decisions.
