My laboratory studies how mammalian cells change shape in response to extracellular cues, focusing on signal transduction processes that link to cell adhesion proteins and the cytoskeleton. We investigate how cell-cell and cell-extracellular matrix interactions are modulated during epithelial cell migration and invasion, and how endothelial cells sense and respond to mechanical forces through cell-cell junctions. We also study how cancer cells attach to and cross endothelial cells.
