My group focuses on the role of chromatin in gene regulation in the mammalian germ line and during early embryogenesis. We study whether and how intergenerational inheritance of chromatin states regulates zygotic genome activation and epigenetic reprogramming in early embryos, thereby contributing to the acquisition of totipotency. We aim at elucidating molecular mechanisms of epigenetic inheritance across generations.
