The goal of our research is to obtain insight into the functioning of biomacromolecules, in particular enzymes, at the atomic level. Several of the research projects are at the same time directed towards the elucidation of enzyme catalytic mechanisms and protein engineering. We make extensive use of X-ray crystallography and other biochemical and biophysical techniques to reach our goals.
