Our lab studies how the plant immune system defends against pathogens and herbivores, and how beneficial microbes in the root microbiome boost plant growth and immunity. We discover new plant-beneficial functions from the root microbiome and explore plant genes and metabolites that enhance these benefits. Our research aims to address societal challenges like food security and sustainable agriculture through microbiome-assisted solutions.
