We have a transdisciplinary approach to study the interplay between the organizational dynamics of the molecular components of glutamatergic synapses and synaptic transmission. We found that: a) trafficking of glutamate receptors is highly dynamic, b) regulations of protein-protein interactions control lateral diffusion, endo and exocytosis, c) glutamate receptor trafficking impacts short and long term synaptic plasticity.
