My team is studying the genetic and epigenetic mechanisms that control faithful transmission of chromosomes in human cells. We are particularly interested in the DNA of certain chromosomal regions such as centromeres, where we are investigating key enzymes required to protect their integrity and functionality. We use molecular and cell biology approaches combined with genetics, physics and biochemistry.
