Regulation via the ubiquitin-proteasome-system

Our lab is interested in regulated protein degradation via the ubiquitin-proteasome-system (UPS ). Our model organism is yeast. One field concerns the study of the reciprocal regulation of the central metabolic carbohydrate pathways glycolysis and gluconeogenesis via the UPS. In another field we study protein quality control and elimination of improperly folded proteins of the cellular cytoplasm and the endoplasmic reticulum via the UPS.
