Our group investigates how quantitative signals are decoded by gene-regulatory networks and cis-regulatory landscapes. We combine theoretical approaches, such as mathematical models, with experimental techniques, like CRISPR screens and (epi)genetic editing. We use the Xist gene as a model, which senses X-dosage differences, integrates multiple signals and maintains epigenetic memory to ensure inactivation of one X chromosome in female mammals.
