Our group studies host-microbiome interactions in animal models and humans, and the environmental, nutritional, immune and genetic factors that regulate them. We focus on deciphering how aberrant host-microbiome interactions predispose to pathologies ranging from chronic inflammation to obesity, the metabolic syndrome and even cancer, and develop novel person-specific interventions targeting the microbiome as a means of preventing or treating common multi-factorial disease.
