A key feature of the mammalian nucleus is the non-random arrangement of the genome within the nuclear space, which has been linked to how cells cope with DNA damage. Our lab uses innovative strategies to induce double-strand breaks at specific nuclear compartments and is studying the mechanisms by which genome organisation and chromatin structure protect cells against genomic instability.
