My lab is interested in the pathways and machineries of cellular protein folding and assembly. Our major focus is on the role of molecular chaperones in promoting folding and preventing aggregation. A second area of research concerns the mechanisms of cellular pathology in protein aggregation diseases, including neurodegenerative disorders such as Huntington's, Parkinson's and Alzheimer's disease.
Keywords: Mechanism of folding in the cell / structure & function of heat shock proteins & molecular chaperones / neurodegenerative diseases of protein misfolding & aggregation
