We study the physiological consequences of DNA damage response (DDR) activation, namely mainly ageing and cancer, in mammalian systems. More recently, we are devoting most of our efforts to understand the role of a novel class of small and long non-coding RNA (named DDRNA and dilncRNA, respectively) that we have discovered to be generated at sites of DNA damage and to be essential for DDR activation.
