I study neurobiology using Drosophila. Over the past decade my laboratory has developed methods for targeting expression of exogenous genes to individual cell types and for high-throughput, light-level anatomical analyses. We have applied these methods to the study of visual perception, learning and memory, and brain states such as sleep. I also have a strong interest in the theory and practice of management of research institutions.
