Over the years I developed several models that account for the generation of patterns and pattern regulation during development. Examples are organizer and axes formation, chemotactic orientation by minute asymmetries, initiation of legs and wings at differentiation borders, stable gene activation under control of morphogenetic gradients and regeneration, e.g., of Hydra. Most of these models found strong support by recent observations.
