By controlling the phosphoproteome, tyrosine kinases and protein tyrosine phosphatases (PTPs) enable rapid changes in protein function in response to specific cues. Yet, despite catalysing opposing reactions, these enzymes often collaborate in signal transduction. Our group studies PTP signalling mechanisms including their biochemistry, spatiotemporal regulation and dysregulation in disease, with a focus on redox signalling cross-talk.
