My lab seeks to understand the homeostasis of lipid species and lipid functions in cell biology. There are several thousand lipid species and the reason for this complexity is unknown. In addition lipids have the capacity to self-aggregate and the function of this property in cells is a mystery. We use a variety of techniques to address these issues, including lipidomics, genetics, biochemistry and chemical biology.
