My group is interested in characterizing and understanding the genomic bases of traits in microorganisms across different environmental niches ranging from Taiwanese broadleaf forests to human gut. We are studying Taiwan's biodiversity from sampling, to omic data generation, to analysis, to biological insights. Examples include bioluminescent fungi, predomesticated lineages of yeasts, and free-living nematodes.
