My group is studying how plants regulate their innate immunity systems. We are investigating defence pathway decision making at the level of individual protein molecules and the stress response network. A current focus is on NLR immune receptor activation and resistance signalling involving concerted transcriptional reprogramming of host cells and tissues. Another interest is to explore the genetic and ecological forces acting on plant resistance gene repertoires.
