TGF-beta signaling in stem cells and cancer metastasis

My lab investigates mechanisms that regulate tissue homeostasis and cancer metastasis. We delineated the TGF-beta signaling pathway, a central regulator of cell proliferation and fate in metazoans. We are currently focusing on the regulation of stem cell differentiation. Additionally we are identifying genes and mechanisms that drive dissemination, latency, and organ colonization during metastasis.
