In-cell structural biology attained via cryo-electron tomography of intact cells is now at an exciting stage. With this disruptive technology, my group touches on questions spanning a broad spectrum of biological complexity, from the simplest bacterium as a blueprint for the most conserved molecular machineries, to molecular landscapes in translationally-relevant human induced pluripotent stem cells and 3D (patient-derived) organoids.
