Our group studies the essential processes of genome maintenance and duplication, with a particular emphasis in understanding how cytotoxic DNA lesions known as DNA-protein crosslinks are cleared from the genome. To this end, we take advantage of a protein egg extract system derived from African clawed frogs, which offers the opportunity to study genome maintenance processes in great molecular detail.
