Our laboratory studies the biochemical mechanisms by which chromatin-modifying proteins regulate gene transcription. A main focus is to understand the molecular basis by which the modification of chromatin generates stable transcriptional OFF and ON states that can be maintained and propagated during the development of multicellular organisms.
