Our group studies the biogenesis and maintenance of endosymbiotic organelles like chloroplasts and mitochondria. On one hand we look at protein sorting, translocation and assembly from cytosol into the organelles, by molecular characterisation of the players involved. On the other hand we study the role of metabolite and ion channels in metabolic networking and abiotic acclimation.
