We investigate the molecular mechanisms of various membrane proteins including active transporters (with an emphasis on ABC transporters) and oligosaccharyltransferase. We use X-ray crystallography to determine protein structures at high resolution and in distinct conformations. We reconstitute the purified proteins in proteoliposomes to investigate their in vitro activities and the conformational changes that underpin their functions.
