Recently my research has focused on molecular and cellular mechanisms of natural and synthetic microporous and mesoporous inorganic structures. Properties such as ion-exchange, intercrystalline pores that discriminate between molecules of different dimension, strong acidic sites, and active reservoirs for metal-catalyzed reactions have promoted their use in medicine. We are developing new medical devices based on these properties for human and veterinary medicine.
