Genetic inheritance relies on the correct execution of the biochemical program of DNA replication. Our research aims to understand the molecular mechanisms responsible for the duplication of our genome. In addition to its biological importance, a detailed molecular understanding of DNA replication has great medical relevance, as the genomic instability caused by defective replication is a predisposing cause of cancer and degenerative pathologies.
