Combining challenging field studies, clinical trials in Africa and Asia, as well as controlled human infection model with cutting edge immunological technologies available in our lab at LUMC, our work aims at gaining in-depth understanding of the human immune system. Through this we study how environmental factors (among others, parasites) shape the immune system that impacts vaccine responses and disease profiles.
