My lab works on uncovering the mechanisms, role, and long-term maintenance of chromatin modifications induced by bacteria. As chromatin modifications are fundamental regulators of gene expression in eukaryotes, the study of bacteria-mediated reprogramming of host transcription helps us understand both asymptomatic colonization and acute infection.
