Protein degradation in development and disease

Cell fate specification requires strict control over protein abundance and function. We study mechanisms and regulation of critical ubiquitylation machineries that drive protein degradation and thereby ensure tissue formation and homeostasis during development and upon stress. By hijacking these pathways with small molecules, we also develop targeted protein degradation approaches to correct aberrant protein function in disease.
