My research is located at the interface of immunology and stem cell research with the overarching question of how cell identity and cell numbers are controlled. In my group we investigate the molecular and cellular mechanisms of self-renewal and cell fate decision in stem cells and differentiated cells. We are interested in hematopoietic differentiation, stability and plasticity of cell identity and the role of macrophages in regeneration.
