My major interest is the role of the centrosome in the definition and maintenance of cell polarity during locomotion and division of animal cells. Experimental effort deals with the structural and biochemical characterization of the centrosome, including its duplication and its interaction with the Golgi apparatus, and with the role of cell adhesion in the definition of cell polarity, organelle positioning and the orientation of the division axis.
