Axon growth and regeneration

We are interested in characterizing pathways that control axon growth during development and axon regeneration after injury. We specifically focus on studying axonal cytoskeleton organization and dynamics. We recently identified the spiny mouse as a unique mammal that spontaneously regenerates the spinal cord. With this model, we aim at identifying mechanisms underlying scar progression and reversion.
