Environmental genomics of marine microbes

Our lab studies microbial ecology, viral photosynthesis and microbial rhodopsins using (functional) metagenomics. Accessing the genomes of microorganisms and identifying protein coding genes and biochemical pathways can improve our understanding of their physiological properties and ecological function.
