My lab, mostly using C. elegans nematodes, studies how traits can be inherited trans-generationally in the form of small RNA molecules. We examine how heritable small RNAs are transcribed in response to different environmental challenges, and the mechanisms that enable these molecules to enforce inherited gene regulation and to prepare the offspring for similar hardships.
