Molecular mechanisms of gene expression

Our goal is to understand the molecular mechanisms of gene transcription and regulation. We use an integrated structural biology approach to elucidate the three-dimensional architecture of macromolecular complexes. Structures are complemented by functional analyses to arrive at mechanistic insights. We develop and use functional genomics and computational approaches to unravel principles underlying gene transcription and regulation on a systems level.
