The long-standing interest of my group is to describe patterns of gene expression during animal development with the highest possible spatiotemporal resolution. To that end we have developed technologies to visualise arbitrary genes, image them in living embryos and extract information from the data by image analysis. Our goal is to understand how gene regulatory networks orchestrate morphogenesis and how genetic control of morphogenesis evolves.
