Structural biology of host-pathogen interactions

We study the structure of human pathogens (e.g. HIV and SARS-CoV-2) and the molecular mechanisms of host-pathogen interactions in viral and bacterial infections. To this end, we develop and apply novel technologies for high-resolution cryo-electron microscopy and tomography, in situ structural biology and correlative light and electron microscopy, combining them with complementary computational, biophysical, and biochemical approaches.
