We are interested in the delicate balance between genome stability and the plasticity that is the foundation for evolutionary change. In this context we study various aspects of chromosome biology ranging from the maintenance of chromosome ends by the enzyme telomerase to the effects of interspecific hybridization and ploidy changes in evolution.
