Our group studies tissue regeneration in physiology and pathology, and in aging, using skeletal muscle as a model system. We aim to understand the cellular and molecular mechanisms regulating the timely and spatially coordinated actions between muscle stem cells and cells from the environment (niche and systemic) required for successful tissue repair. Conversely, we also investigate the causes of faulty tissue repair in aging and disease.
