We are interested in macropinocytosis, an ancestral feeding process used by amoeabae and tumour cells, in which large cups extend from the plasma membrane and close forming intracellular vesicles, containing a droplet of medium. How do cells polymerize actin as a ring under the plasma membrane to drive the walls of the cup out? What is the role of Ras, NF1 and PI3kinase signalling? Chemotaxis and blebbing are also of major interest.
