Model systems or human adversary? We study virus structure, assembly and the underlying molecular mechanisms, aiming to understand how host-virus interactions occur and can be controlled, to fuel the design of new antiviral agents. We combine molecular biology with structural methods such as electron cryomicroscopy, X-ray crystallography and mass spectrometry to understand the importance of the spatial interactions that occur.
