Our lab applies tools from systems biology to study the design principles of mammalian tissues. We seek to understand how single cells cooperatively interact in tissues to achieve physiological goals. We apply an interdisciplinary approach, combining novel measurement techniques of single cells in intact tissues with mathematical models. We focus on the intestine, liver and pancreas, the key organs maintaining metabolic homeostasis.
