Cell polarization and cell fusion

My lab aims to understand how spatial organization underlies cell physiology. Our work uses a simple eukaryotic model, the fission yeast Schizosaccharomyces pombe, to reveal conceptual principles and molecular details of cell polarization. Using advanced live-microscopy and molecular genetic techniques, we have made contributions to fields of cell growth control, cell division, signal transduction and sexual differentiation.
