We want to understand immunity in infectious diseases with an emphasis on tuberculosis. We are not only interested in basic research but also in translational research and have developed a vaccine candidate against tuberculosis which is currently in clinical trial, and designed biomarkers of diagnostic and prognostic value. Our most recent approach exploits systems biology to better understand infection.
