Our lab is interested in post-transcriptional regulation in bacteria. We study regulated proteolysis by the ATP-dependent proteases, in particular the regulation of degradation of RpoS and the role of anti-adaptors in this process. We also study the physiological roles and mechanism of action of small non-coding RNAs, particularly those that utilize the RNA chaperone Hfq and regulated mRNA stability and translation.
