In my group, we use in-vivo and in-vitro models to study malaria parasite biology with a particular focus on host transitions. We develop larger-scale experimental genetic tools tightly integrated with cutting-edge computational and molecular/cell biological approaches. Thus, we want to shed light on fundamental parasite biology during host switching, strengthening the quest for prophylactic and transmission-blocking intervention strategies.
